Everyone will start from the same point at launch. However, people who played the beta will have a significant advantage from practicing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that there has been any beta-exclusive gear announced because the beta itself is a pre-order bonus. There is ,however, another pre-order bonus in the form of an upgraded Sparrow speeder-bike. The Sparrow upgrade is only available when pre-ordering from Game or Gamestop. So ,as far as I know, there is no exclusive content for participating in the beta, but if you pre-order from Game/Gamestop you will receive the Beta key and also an upgraded Sparrow at launch.

In a weekly update Deej stated that there will be a way of telling if a player has been IN the beta.

Oh, that's cool. Maybe there is a reward. Probably a vanity item like a ship upgrade.
