Hm I think perhaps gun laws in the US should be more strict. But thats just my opinion.

Exactly why? Criminals rarely get guns through legal means. Enforcing stricter gun laws only places an inconvenience on the law-abiding citizen wanting to express their right and have the means to defend themselves from criminals who don't follow the laws. Ever heard of Operation: Fast and Furious? Yeah, that was a nifty program where the U.S government GAVE rifles to cartels and LOST tract of said weapons. Now they're being sold between the border and being placed in the hands of American criminals. Government is the problem
