A) polls are usually not be trusted as they tend to ask loaded questions (just look at virtually any poll here) B) you should be skeptical of any poll/vote that gets anywhere near 90% C) gun background checks are already a law and supporting them is not the same as supporting stricter regulation, just supporting the current level of regulation D) always be skeptical of how the media presents the poll, fox and msn can give you same poll and twist the words around to support their own agendas.

Reuters is a bit better for balance compared to the places you mentioned. I would agree without the survey questions attached it leaves room for error. I'd also say they should look at whom was doing the publishing. In this instance is it a private north eastern university with a reputation for research. On the other hand it is deep in an area of the country that is known for leaning old school left and many unaffiliated voters.

A statement that stated that people were in favor of better background checks, a form of gun control, and would be classified as being for something stricter than what we currently have.
