Remember kids, think before you post.
-
? What kind of art specifically? Music itself is a work of art.
-
Art because it's called "art".

(͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Neither is objectively better, but I listen to music more than I look at visual art, so I guess I'll have to go with music.
-
Well, usually music, but as it turns out you can profit from the simplest or most uncomplicated pieces of art now. Some guy sold a piece that had a white line down the middle of a blue background and got 48 mil.

-
I would say music tends to evoke more emotion that artwork...
-
This is art- draw one line on a piece of paper and say it represents your dog's poop.
-
I prefer music. Although art... This is hard.
-
Not better, just different. Although I prefer music, being a musician.

Edited by Sandtrap: 4/28/2014 5:50:21 PMShould have added a both option. The two are, in a lot of cases, linked. What do I do when I draw or write? Listen to music. Both music and drawn arts along with writing are forms of expression and mood. When you're having a bad day, your drawings will reflect this. They might not be as sharp as they could be, or you might even go so far as to to create something that is a reflection of the tone of things. A dark, moody picture with a distinct tone and vibe. The very same applies to music. And a good example of this is, have you ever listened to any form of music that has made you cry, for no particular reason? Or opposite, have you ever listened to a track that made you feel so good? Both music and "drawn" art at their core follow a very basic yet similar rule, but are both different in their outcome. Music has the raw power of emotion behind it, easily able to show what's inside the conductor, but also able to influence how people on the outside feel as well. Drawn art is again, yet another form of expression, but produces another distinct tone. Rather than an outward, visible feeling, it creates a tone and mood inside the viewer, a unique feeling of a time, a place, even evoking an old memory. Myself, I love pictures of rain that are done well because it sparks old memories of mine from childhood. The smell of dust after a rain. The cold feeling of it. The sound of sitting safely inside your small cozy vehicle as it patters down on the metal. It is impossible to choose because both are so heavily intertwined into most people's lives in some form or another. There is no "better" because without one, I doubt you would have the other. Music creates moods and feelings. These moods go on and are created in visual art, whether it be an environment, a character, a place, or a time. And finally these pictures create stories. They ignite the inspiration of people to write about what they see and feel. You could call it a golden triangle if you will. You can start anywhere and these three core things feed off of each other in such an amazing fashion. But take one away and put one on a pedestal and suddenly, you will find that your product is lacking something.

You've really got me on the fence here, man.

Why not both? thatonecommercial.jpg

Pornography

Philosophical questions like this come down to matters of opinion. Neither is really greater than the other.

Option C: Theater
-
'art' can be pretty much anything, need more specifics, dude.
-
I think he means visual art, not just "Art" in general.
-
Music is art
-
Music videos.
-
Clear choice for me. Being a musician, I understand music better and can get much more out of it.
-
I love great visual art but after a long day's work I don't feel any want to go look at some good pieces. However I ALWAYS have music going or available to me. Typing on the computer? Music. Running? Music. Lifting? Music. Paperwork? Music. Online classes? Music. Studying? Music. Eating? Music. Alarm? Music. Getting dressed? Music. Sleeping? Sometimes, yes. Music.

Music is art. There is no "better" one. It's all about preference. That's the war between digital artists and traditional. Though someone can state their preference. Music annoys me, so obviously I'll vote "art" which is such a vague selection that should be specified.

I cant answer this ;__;
