So sad, my favorite gaming studio lost my favorite gaming composer for reasons nobody even knows...
-
You guys(bungie) needed to be happy with him not fire him
-
If they replace Marty with anybody, I hope it's the person who made Halo War's soundtrack. Next to halo 3 soundtrack, it's probably my favorite.
-
to be honest this is like the end of an era for me, i used to read every bungie weekly update and follow the next game and everything but have been doing less so with destiny and this feels symbolic. i'll still buy destiny at some point but yeah
-
I just registered to say this: Halo was shit, the plot was generic, the game itself sucked.... but the OST were awesome and I will never be able to take them out of my head. What the hell Bungie.
-
Are you kidding? Guys read this. So Bungie left microsoft and made videos and wall of text stating Microsoft was/is the devil. The moment they joined Microsoft was the day they sold their souls. Now after leaving Microsoft, not only are they supporting PlayStation by handling their beta first, they are firing their old staff members. Bungie isn't the company it once was. You were right, when you made that announcement a while back. About this being our stop or we can continue to make this our home. No kidding. This was suppose to be our stop. R.I.P Bungie.

The only thing that seems probable is that Marty did a Bruce Willis on Expendables 3 and asked for too much money. But that seems unlikely.
-
first joe and then marty, huh? Who will be the next?
-
The most unforgettable for me was the halo sound track.
-
Did he finish any of his music for destiny before he left? I don't think they ever said anything about it
-
Hey everyone join Marty O'Donnell's newsletter show him that you care.
-
So sad he got fired.
-
I understand the dissapointmant and all but SERIOUSLY people. While marty was an important member of the team his departure will not affect destiny as much as you would like to think. Whoever bungie has replaced him with will do perfectly well. So go ahead and cry your little hearts out and complain... i however will always be a Bungie supporter as long as i live.
-
Halo, if you got good at that game, you could play anything. that game, turned you into a true warrior and is the whole reason MLG was born. You BOUGHT an xbox 360 for that game and every time you'd get a new game, youd still jump back to Halo because it was home. to all of us. Every time you'd turn on your xbox and hear that heavenly chorus begin, the warmest feeling would erupt from straight inside your stomach filling you with absolute joy that just never got old. Halo 3 will forever stay in my heart and i really mean it when i say that. brings tears to my eyes knowing Marty O'Donnel's leaving Bungie. Things will never be the same.
-
Why? That's what we all want to know, I just figured he had tenure and was usable to fire. I hope this was a bungie discission and not the doing of Activision, they already destroyed the modern warfare series, I don't want them destroying the series of the people who got me into fps

Interesting to see that Urk has now stepped in on te weekly updates ... has DeeJ taken a moral stand on the sacking? Well done David ... well done.
-
the thing that is COMPLETE BS is 'without notice' … w/o Marty B U N G I E would be N O T H I N G and 'bungl3' could at least give the guy N O T I C E seriously...
-
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Marty O'Donnell is the only thing that's kept me hopeful for Destiny and that Bungie HASNT changed. He's what holds all of Bungie's masterpieces together!! :'( without Marty, I've officially lost hope.. H3 forever. RIP Bungie.
-
Why Marty got fired? We will probably never know... Good Marty your music inspired us with Heroic Warriors and Heroic Combat. But looking on the positive side maybe Marty can go back to writing music for Halo 5 and 6? :D
-
Good read on the subject.
-
I can agree with most people. I loved what Marty did for us. The songs from all three of the first halo games were absolutely outstanding. Im sure there was much more to this shocking event than i know of but i really hope to be listening to his music in other games in the future
-
Destiny will still be the best game that releases in the next few years, POW! Gonna miss his sound though but I'm sure Bungie has everything covered.
-
"There are those who said this day would never come..."
Wich day?
-
Did anyone listen to some of Marty's work after they read this?
-
I just hope all the music was finished. -.- Now the destiny sequel's music isn't going to be comparable. Or the last part of Destiny, and future DLC won't be the same audio-wise. .-. If this has something to do with Activision, or some kind of stupid greed, I'm going to be pissed. Since Bungie has pushed that they are a company solely built on making amazing games for people since their emergence. It just does not correlate within my mind. Was there discrepancy? Was Marty being treated unfairly? Is the board of directors selling out like CoD Companies just for cash? :/ I think we deserve to know. Instead of some tersely written set of paragraphs that explain nothing. And if it is illegal to state, I hope something leaks soon. So we at least know WHY.
