Edited by Zephyr: 4/24/2014 1:11:24 AMMarty, you brought tears to my eyes many times. There will never be another you. If you go back into the game music business, even if it means buying COD to hear your music, I swear. I will. :D --From a guy who's played halo and noticed the soundtrack since he was 4.

Edited by True Reclaimer: 4/27/2014 8:21:30 AMThis man is the reason why I learned to play piano

Marty's music has come to be my favorite thing about the original Halo series. The music has stood the test of time in a way no game can. To remove him from Bungie when he has such a huge part to play in the development of your games cannot go unexplained. We need a reason.
-
Apparently, Marty was taking too long making the music. So, Activision were the one's who basically fired him for putting effort into a game.
-
Okay, come on. This is pretty stupid, Bungie. Many things made Halo amazing, and one of the biggest was the amazing composition. You guys made a big mistake
-
Family-friendly depiction of Marty being fired.

The time has come Bungie.net members, EXECUTE ORDER 66!!!!!

Edited by VirtuaCarnage: 4/25/2014 5:27:34 AMWhen I played Halo 1 for the first time, I was hooked. I bought multiple consoles and controllers for system link. You merged with Microsoft, I played halo 2 and halo 3, watching graphics, gameplay, story, and controls get better. {Halo 1 my fav, love equality of multiplayer} Through the countless hours of gameplay, the thing that stills sticks out strong is the music, the random quotes, and the explosions. You let Microsoft put on your pants and released an expansion at full price, after months of saying it would be $40. The game was trash, of which the major selling point was a play on gears of war horde mode. Great music, really hit the feel of the crappy back and forth gameplay. For Halo: Reach you rode the COD train right into screwing multiplayer with loadouts, firefight got a lot better, but GoW did better with GoW 3. A loss in my book. But still the music was top notch. Then again you were working on Destiny then. Now, many years later, after I watch Microsoft delude you and just as I sense the greatest comeback since dinosaurs, you go and get rid of the only consistent greatness in your company. You did what I consider to be the greatest thing in gaming history with Halo 1, all with the money from Marathon. Why keep selling out to these companies for more money when I just bought another copy of Halo 1 pc off the best buy shelf because I forgot to install it on this computer. When Marty returns I can consider playing your game, until then "Activision, if its not broke don't fix it, and screw you"
-
That's nice. That's real nice. BUT WHY THE -blam!- DID YOU GUYS FIRE HIM?
-
What? Why? Ridiculous.
-
I HATE YOU
-
I SAID NO

-
NOOOOO

Music makes the game for some, others it is an annoyance and mute it for the game. I for one mute it. It does not mean I appreciate the music, but I want to hear the game. Marty's leave is something worth a look at, but does it really affect the game itself? I listen to the music on iTunes, not on my XBox, so for me, no it doesn't. People need to realize that a game is more than an individual part. Will Marty's flare be missed, yes. Will it kill the game, no. Play the game for the game, not the music. If you want the music only, buy it.
-
