I'm not really sure if someone already posted this question but here goes.
Since Destiny will be a massive open world game wherein Guardians will have to travel through different planets within the solar system, apart from firefights with other alien civilizations, will we encounter random bestiaries (sample hostile lifeforms: Martian Sand Lurkers, Europa Colossal Squid, Moon Critters, etc.) ?
I think it would be cool to add this feature to the game as it brings more life to the environment that we are in.
It also adds a bit of the survival (or survival horror) element. Imagine that you embarked on a rescue mission somewhere in Europa after getting a distress signal while unaware of the monstrosities that awaits you over there.
What do the other Guardians think?

Yes! We need something other than birds. Perhaps, in the story, there is an explanation about the like of life. I would suggest capturing and collecting creatures versus killing them. We already have much to shoot at. So perhaps a few creatures to capture. Also, this game reminds me of Myst at times. I would like some puzzles or obstacles to solve versus the Ghost doing everything!

Edited by Tu Chocolate Caliente: 4/26/2014 6:28:36 PMI have been saying this in to many related articles, destiny has to have space bears with the head shaped as a cucumber!!. Also maybe glimpses of acuatic life in venus.

I wish.

I would love to go hunt some beasts then craft them in to armor but only if killing them is a challenge or there very rare.

Thanks for all your feedback. I just wish that Bungie would include neutral insane/epic alien lifeforms in the world of Destiny (apart from the "planet-crushing war beast" that was mentioned). To draw a comparison, even Titanfall featured random neutral alien creatures to their map. I'm sure the talented team in Bungie would be able to find a creative way to inject this as part of the gameplay and storyline.

Space beavers ate all other life forms.

According half this forum Bungie can't add swimming, climbing ladders, manual flight, vehicles, air vehicles, cat ears, Tigermen, and mounts. Bungie can barely tie its shoes let alone create animals for Destiny it seems for some on here. Me throw in giant flying squid and bears with rockets and I'm good.

Considering most of our solar system will only have been inhabited by humans or the various space-travelling aliens that are our mortal enemies, I don't think there will be too many random alien life forms running around. I guess there could be the equivalent of space rats, though, that stow away on alien ships then get off on some planet and take over. That's kind of what I imagine the Hive is like.

Edited by Pheint3d: 4/12/2014 6:21:27 AMAs long as there isn't a ridiculously retarded mission like..... Go to planet Kill 10 of this animal or monster 20 of this one 15 of that one Collect 10 hides of such monster Etc Etc..... Report to tower.... Only to realize you're traveling to another section to do the same boring mission to get some exp and lame reward...rinse and repeat Then I'm totally for it... Sorry for any mmo players that actually LIKE those types of missions...quests..whatever word fits the context of the game. .. On a side note, if the native hostile enemy monsters were epic and tough as shit, then it would be pretty cool on the whole horror aspect. Its hard to replicate an authentic feel to the world if there's an abundance of wild life just standing around though, done right it could be cool, done wrong could be meaningless. As long as its not mission related...or if it is...at least make it epic...like the wild life got experimented on and now are under the control of the aliens and you fight like super beastly versions of them...rather than scoping a wild life that's just randomly standing around just to get x amount of kills of that type. There definitely has to be more than just us guardian's and aliens though. I agree on that

carnivorous bunny rabbits of venus each of them the size of a bear

That would absolutely add lots to the immersiveness factor!

I'd flip if I was given a special mission with my friends to help rescue a nearby settlement from a random encounter of colossal sand squid lurkers of death!!!! think of the glorious loot!
