Dualshock 4 is rechargeable built in, XB1 controller requires extra purchase of recharge kit or rechargeable batteries. Neither have external HDD support at the moment but believed to be added in future update. But the PS4 does let you upgrade your HDD with any 2.5-inch 9.5mm HDD,SSD, or SSHD by yourself "Basically a laptop HDD". Sony has stated, CD/mp3 support is on its way in update, i believe XB1 currently supports cd/mp3. PlayStation camera is not required for voice commands but is nice to live stream your gameplay via twitch/Ustream, and does not require a smartphone/tablet app, unless you would like to use companion app with games for example you can turn your tablet or smartphone into a map of the game level you are playing etc. XB1 Kinect i believe is no longer required to be plugged in but you lose voice commands, and also is handy for live streaming. Also smartphone app not required.
