It's sad that people are so willing to accept an always-online game. But I'd be surprised if there isn't at the very least offline competitive play. I'm really hoping Bungie figures out a way to let gamers have a decent experience when their internet, MS or Sony's, or Bungie's own servers are down. Pretty inexcusable to have a useless game when your own servers aren't up, IMO.
I want to have faith that they'll offer something, but I've been burned before. Just gotta wait and see.

Did u even read the other posts in this thread? CONFIRMED NO OFFLINE MODE
-
It's an online world, persistent in nature. That's the flavor of the game, and the way it's being designed and marketed. Some of the reasons there won't be(and shouldn't be) offline competitive modes would be stat tracking and rewards, not to mention the possibility of exploiting. Honestly, if you want to run CTF with your buddies on LAN, just wait for Halo 5.
-
No offline competitive would inexcusable. I read the other posts, but I want offline competitive specifically addressed by Bungie, because a lack of offline campaign is bad enough, I could see that they weren't thinking of CTF at a friend's house or something.

What is so difficult to understand. When I say CONFIRMED. Bungie has CONFIRMED it. No offline ANYTHING for Destiny. Its a persistant world.

Feel free to drop the attitude. You're coming off as an angry adolescent. The confirmation I've seen could easily only apply to campaign. And if it doesn't, Bungie deserves some criticism for removing a style of play that takes almost zero effort to support.

Feel free to drop the high and mighty attitude. No disrespect intended. This is old news for over 5 months. You have chosen to not believe any of the info in front of you. Destiny is an Always Oline Persistent World FPS. This isn't Halo. The focus of Destiny is Co Op. Although you can go solo. It is even highly unlikely that there will be a map editor. Sorry man No Offline Mode. Feel free to search the quotes from Bungie online

Yeah, high and mighty. Because I'm not being a jerk? Anyway, enjoy your day.

I honestly do apologize. Been used to 8yos replying with nothing but bs on why they think this game is mostly going to be MMO or RPG. Not used to trying to have an adult conversation. My true apologies. I would look forward to starting this conversation over again if you have the energy ;-)

Edited by RoadDoggFL: 3/1/2014 8:19:40 PMAbsolutely, I just see the lack of online play as being unjustified. Even if Bungie took the MMO defense, where it's semi-understandable to not make the story experience available offline, there's still competitive play. Even the "connected living world" could be offered up "disconnected and dead" for gamers whose alternative is no Bungie games for a decade. I just haven't seen a good reason for the online requirement. It's custom game searching all over again.

Will continue this later. At my nephews wedding in 15min ;-)
