Little Robot Girls fighting giant robots bugs with Japanese Pop Music playing in the background.
-
Huh... I'd probably watch it.
-
It looks like shit Das, and that's not just because it's Moe Blob cancer.
-
Dat animation doe And I tend to enjoy moe cancer when I get shitfaced and marathon anime.
-
Dat animation doe
What are you talking about? The CGI is so painfully obvious it hurts to watch.
-
Ian... the girls are three dimensional. THREE... DIMENSIONAL... ANIME GIRLS! This is gonna blow my mind when I'm drunk.
-
You're acting like 3DCG anime girls haven't been done before.
-
It's new to me, yo.
-
But it's Moe blob cancer!
-
The industry is beyond the point of chemotherapy. Might as well embrace the suck.
-
That's not true and you know it. Evangelion is a perfect example that the industry can thrive without Moe Blob Shit, so I don't know why Khara is being a bunch of hypocrites.
-
But Eva isn't even that good. Besides, otakus own the industry, and guess what otakus like. Moeshit and siscon.
-
If Otakus owned the industry, Ghibli moves and Eva wouldn't be wrecking at the box office and make record breaking DVD/BD sales in comparison to Moe Blob Shit that gets lucky if it has enough money for a second season.

Any coherent idea that would make for a good quality project has been lost within the infinite abyss of Anno's mind.

Believe it or not though, it's likely that they have to do this to survive. Keep in mind that all of the deep and interesting plots set in semi-original or rarely done settings we enjoy (as westerners) are disliked by the majority of Japan. For example Trigun, Helsing, and Cowboy Bebop did terribly in Japan and the only reason they exist like they do today is because of the western audience. It's a shame, but in order for many studios to do the projects they actually want to do they have to ride the moeshit train for a while to gather funds. Some studios have even come out and said publicly that they're looking to make things for western audiences instead of domestic ones.

Well besides Eva, Khara also has plans for a sequel to Nausicaa. Since Studio Ghibli movies are more popular than God, and Eva is a cash cow for Khara, they really shouldn't be worried about funds for projects they want to produce.
