Why are Waypoint mods so suck?
Just got my 2nd official unwarranted ban from Waypoint. Instead of like last time when I got banned for warning people that the OP constantly posts outrageous and flame baiting topics, this time it was for saying that "I hope Halo 2 anniversary comes out this year" isn't a post that discusses leaked content.
So, how else are the Waypoint mods dumb? Feel free to complain so I can bring up all your points everytime I talk with one.

2 RepliesEven though this is a fairly old thread it shouldn't die .... now more than ever. So those waypoint mods with a god complex (actually, I think it is quite the opposite - they really must have serious self-esteem issues that just manifest in what looks like this god complex) are indeed hypocrites and abuse their power. A while back I noticed one of the moderators posting a one-word post which is considered spam and against the rules they are so eager to enforce all other times. Now you guessed it non of the other monitors feels like doing anything about their fellow monitor violating the forum rules. So I post about it and again, you guessed it, I am the one slapped with a ban for posting about moderator decisions. Then my husband posts on his account that someone please explain whether or not a one-word post is spam and while someone agrees that it is my husband and me are both accused of using a fake account to get around my forum ban. This clearly shows how they are abusing their power and how they accuse people of whatever they feel like without any shred of evidence, without knowing the facts and without any kind of due process. So I sent a message to WP Ban Appeals - and never got a response from there. Independent, freelance monitors are never good for the community. Power corrupts and once someone has power they love to exercise it and to hold on to it. There is also the question of proper vetting. I doubt that 343i ever put any real thoughts on that one and so it is very likely that those forum mods are a bunch of convicted criminals. This isn't as far fetched as you may think - a popular dating site started to roll back their community monitor program after it turned out that they had a convicted murderer who got pardoned by the governor on the monitor team.

In the very beginning, like the start, Waypoint wasn't too bad. But lately it has been crap, I got banned because when I saw MP for the first time and the armor, I found them a little plastic-looking at first. Made a thread, and boom, banned. But the Moderators don't send warnings, they simply ban you if they want to. Even if you did nothing wrong. I've seen that happen before.

I honestly try and watch what I say over their knowing that pretty much anything can get you banned. I've since been banned at least 10 times. It's so pathetic that a mod will ban you for misunderstanding you. I can't remember the dudes name right now but we were disagreeing about something and we were just going back and forth trying to present reasons as to why we believed one of us was right and the other was wrong. After I essentially proved him wrong he banned me and editing all of my posts saying that they were flamebait. I contacted Jess on twitter and within a day got my "2000+ year ban" removed. It just makes me mad that the dude is still a mod. They really need to do some serious house cleaning over their. It makes me want to not play Halo. The community has always been pretty bad, but never this bad. Each of the mods are equally as bad and it probably stems from the fact that at least a few of them are teenagers. It's an absolute fact that they are all absolute 343 lovers. On here I can get away with saying that about a different community which is awesome. If I was on Waypoint and I said Bungie forum ninjas are filled with Bungie lovers I'd be banned before I could refresh the page. After my ban was up I'd get a message saying I was banned for Flaming, personal attack, threats, disrespect, and several other forum violations. It's such a joke, I shouldn't have to go over their worrying that a little pre-teen is going to ban me because his mind can't properly function to realize that what I'm saying isn't an attack but rather an opinion. I'll never stay banned though. If I want to get unbanned I just message all the 343 peeps on twitter. I make sure to copy and paste basically anything I say if I think it has potential to get me banned. I always send them what I said to receive the ban and I'm always unbanned. Just goes to show that those idiot mods aren't doing their job right.

I used to go on halo waypoint a couple months back, looking for halo 4 updates and bug fixes that this game needed. I never got banned but i didn't see the mods wrath, but i never did make topics.

Just run them out en mass or simply shut down the forums? Waypoint seems pretty stagnant at the moment. Every once in awhile some kid laments about how to make Halo popular again, then two trains of thought chug into the thread . One is going back to Halo 3, while the other is about making it different. Both just usually end up choo chooing into a wall of ban.

9 RepliesNormally I'd complain about this being another one of those threads, but whenever it's complaining about Waypoint I just kinda laugh a little because it confirms how I feel about the website. When I first signed up I was pretty happy with it but as time went on, particularly after Halo 4's release the site just got worse and worse in terms of community (what little there was at that point) and moderation. One thing that annoys me particularly is once or twice a week I see someone post on Bungie about the Mods on here and the Ninja Justice as it were, suggesting ways to improve it or just bitch it out. You can't do that on Waypoint at all, friendly suggestions are restricted to PM's because it's against 'Da Rulez' and even if you send a mod or admin a PM with suggestions you almost never get a reply back. Hell, most of the time they don't even open the message and on Waypoint you can tell because the little green icon vanishes when they've read it. Other than that, it's literally a toxic website. My younger brother went on there and started making Machinima to post, I told him the site was pretty meh after a while but he just ignored me and carried on. He got a couple of videos featured on the front page but eventually he got so tired with the way things were that he just left and stopped making videos...and this was all within the span of three months for crying out loud. Then whenever there's a thread on the mods from Waypoint put here where (as you can see from the poll) people typically agree with the OP they come over here in droves and act like some kind of higher being. Waypoint is pretty broken, their forums are like the Sahara Desert and the mods? Well, it's been said before. Absolute joke. I'm sure some of them are real nice people too, but for the most part Waypoint has a pretty crappy Mod team.
