Because public housing, Medicaid, and welfare are cheaper alternatives when these people lose everything they have? There is no argument here, it's just a bunch of people who further demonstrate a lack of knowledge of how to run an economy.

It's what happens when ideology triumphs over all else. The Republican Party has convinced itself and its voters that any government spending is bad. So even if spending on unemployment benefits is smarter in the long run, it's a no-go because it's spending.
