You also can not rule out the theory that he may have met Shinji when they were young, this fits with the theory that Shinji's memory was "Whiped" by NERV shortly after Yui vanished inside Eva Unit 01. I have an image this disproves all of the sequel explanations, I just can't find it.

It isn't just about his relationship with Shinji, it's more than that. I haven't watched it in a while so I'm not going to try and argue because I'd just look like a fool, but I know there are other references.

The chalk outline and red water? 1.0 CRC mentions they are left over from the Second Impact. Red bloodstain on the moon? Cut 2.0 storyboards show they are also from Second Impact. Also, if we're talking about cryptic lines, Professor Fuyutsuki has some of his own in 3.0: "The world can be reversed no more than time". Title of 3.0? You Can (NOT) Redo. You Are (Not) Funny. I don't dick around when it comes to the sequel/time loop theory. It has been debunked so many times, every time some one says it's a sequel I die a little on the inside. That theory came from some deranged Madoka fag that got it in his head "OH! WELL HOMURA DID TIME LOOPS AND MADE MADOKA A GOD! SO OBVIOUSLY KAWORU IS DOING THE SAME AND NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE!" The writing is one the walls, it's NOT a sequel/time loop shit.
