Looking for a gaming laptop

So I'm looking for a gaming laptop for less than $1000. I looked at Alienware laptops but the good ones were about $1500, too much for me. So yeah, what are some good laptops around $1000?

  • Asus have a republic of gamers line that's pretty decent. They have massive fans which help with the typical laptop overheating problems.

  • I'm currently using a Lenovo IdeaPad Y410P and it can run almost all the current gen games at solid 60fps with medium to high setting (not counting Battlefield tier games because those make computers cry) with price tags of about $750 to $950. Not the best preforming laptop in the entire universe but it's great for people who want to enjoy current gaming smoothly with a budget. (Looking at you Alienware)

    • I have a Toshiba Qosmio. While it is not name brand gaming gear like Alienware and Razer, it has amazing performance, a bunch of memory capacity. It runs every game I play at the highest quality, and has a 17.3 inch screen. It's no gaming desktop, don't get me wrong, but I love it nonetheless.

I have the Acer Aspire V3-571G, it's a couple of years old now I think one or two at least but it can play Skyrim pretty damn well. (It was about £600, so that's $800 maybe but it should have devalued quite a bit by now.) If you are getting a laptop for gaming, you will need a cooling pad/stand otherwise it's going to overheat and kill your fps rate. However I don't recommend playing a new/recent AAA FPS game on a laptop since the framerate isn't great and it's just... not ideal. Don't waste money on Alienware either :P Hopefully ^ is slightly helpful. Don't worry about the desktoppers, I had quite a few set upon me when I was asking about a gaming laptop last year lol.

    • A gaming laptop... You mean a desktop? But seriously, you're better off just building a desktop PC. You don't want to spend that much money just to game on medium/low settings.

      • Idk much about gaming computers, but I know that you shouldn't buy an Alienware. You could probably make your own really good laptop for less than $1,000, as I know that its cheaper to just by nice parts instead of a prebuilt CPU.

            • DO NOT get Alienware. Also, get a desktop instead of a laptop.
