I know this doesn't confirm anything at all, but I mean...this is Phil Spencer, somebody who is high up in the Xbox chain-of-command, and he's even saying that cross-platform play makes a lot of sense. Maybe this a hint that current Xbox exclusives may be heading to PC, or maybe even the more obvious one, cross-platform games will be cross platform compatible for multiplayer.
Either way, I really hope that this is a sign of what the future of gaming holds. If so, it's going to be pretty awesome.

A few examples Valve makes Portal 2 and wants console and PC to play together. Sony agrees but MS says no to third party servers connecting directly to xBL. CCP, the makers of EVE Online tried to expand the epic MMO with a FPS called Dust 514. They wanted the fps game to share the exact same server with the MMO so there can be cross play. Again, Sony said sure while MS said no. But for a different reason as well as server access. CCP wantedDust to be F2P and also have free expansions. Something MS ( money hungry corporate heads) did not like So I am glad to finally see MS get their head out of the toilet and listen to what devs want. Now I am taking this with a grain of salt because of what MS has not confirmed this. Very could be just hope and prayer hee.

5 RepliesDo not want. PC Controls are superior to Controllers for Accuracy/Precision of movement etc. It would screw up any form of multiplayer gaming like Battlefield or *Shudders* CoD... To have PC players vs Console players. Look at those Xim3 scumbags -.- They made various games unfair until they got banned for it. Whilst it seems cool, it really doesn't work well.

In a perfect world, this would mean a more robust community with tons of user generated content. Knowing MS though, they'll just gimp the shit out of PC versions.

dislike. PC controls have the advantage over console, PC's have much better hardware and consoles couldn't keep up. they ried it with lost planet and shadowrun. cancelled it because PC had too much against xbox 360.

1 ReplyI like the idea, but PC gaming and console gaming is like a volatile mixture. So many things could go wrong, although its a good step in the cross platform idea.

The only main problem is that their will be more hackers and modders in games and the Code of Conduct would have to be fixed again. The complaint system should be given more choices when you report someone and the reputation system should be more specific on why you prefer someone or why you avoid someone.

Now MS just has to put on their big boy pants and have crossplay on certain games with the PS3/PS4. That way it can get games like Final Fantasy XIV.

I doubt they will put their big exclusives on pc anymore lol. But i do believe they will try to do something like titan fall cross-play.
