Today, I was at Gamestop, when the trailer for Destiny came on the sceen at a little kiosk next to me. It was the Law of the Jungle Trailer. Anyway, in the corner of the screen they had a little info box which said Release Date: 07/01/14. They didn't know what platform it was on, which was also kind of weird.
And now Amazon has the date as 06/30/14... Hopefully this is legit, and not just like what happens with books when they get a filler date. Also, I hope no one else has reported on this before or else I'll feel like an idiot xD
EDIT:
I see now that the Amazon date is a placeholder date. Perhaps the same thing is true of Gamestop, although it's fairly annoying if that's the case. There was no disclaimer, and it'd be easier to simply say "Unknown" or "2014"
We all know how much content was cut from the original Halo trilogy due to time constraints. If a later release date means that Bungie can put more awesome stuff into their game then I encourage them to take all the time they need.
