The most significant development is that oceans are absorbing the vast majority of emissions. I'm no expert, but this could be really, really bad for certain species. IIRC CO2 has made the ocean more acidic, and has raised ocean temperatures by half a degree.

The ocean has alway absorbed co2. It is actually a good thing to. Plants in the ocean use the co2 to make oxygen.

CO2 + H20 = H2CO3 (carbonic acid.) Too high acidity (or low pH) can damage the underwater ecosystem.

This is very true. I agree. But still, if co2 wasn't being absorbed into the oceans, there would be very little life on earth
