I have to say, I am quite surprised, given that this same outlet gave Half-Life 2 its game of the... oh wait. Yeah. I just got it.
Still, they made a perfect choice. Nearly. Halo 3 is my favourite game ever. But, to be fair, I never got a decent shot at H2 online, and that's way higher up the list than H3. Ye gods, imagine how much fun that would have been for me.
Anyway, yeah. Good call.
BioShock is criminally low (but still a great number) compared with Infinity Ward's 2007 green and brown terrorist-hunt snorefest.

I understand that there's a history with the first Half Life, but its sequel was infinitely better. I do like where Halo CE ended up, but I would have used footage from the original rather than the craptacular "Anniversary"... Halo 2, 3, and Reach were well placed for their respective quality and strength of story and gameplay, but I don't believe Halol 4 should have ever been on that list. It was terribad when compared to any other shooter on that list (hell compared to any other game at all...). I liked that "Doom" got #2. Good props for one of the originals. :)

Should Wolfenstein 3D really be on the list? I've never played it so I don't have the experience to back up my opinion, but isn't it just riding on the nostalgia? Same with Golden Eye. I like Golden Eye and thought it was a good shooter. Maybe those two games were the best at the time they were released. IGN can't seriously be suggesting that those two games can hold their own against TF2 or Metro 2033. Surely games like that have better controls, graphics, mystery, story, and moment to moment thrills. I'm not having a go at IGN as a hater. In fact most of the time I defend the guys and girls there. I've spoken to some of the IGN team over the internet both whist they work there and post-IGN. It just seems like List like these aren't properly thought through.

I respect Half-Life as a revolutionary campaign but nothing else. I honestly don't understand what's so good about the game. I'v played all the HL games and was only impressed by the first. Halo: CE or 3 should have been number 1
