The amount of loot you get should be determined by % of damage you do to the enemy(s).

But what if you were the one keeping the attention of the enemies the entire time? Just popping out, shooting the gunner a few times then dropping back again while someone else is just hitting it from far away with rockets? Who deserves more loot then? There's more to fights than just damage is all I'm saying
-
Who deserves more loot then?
The guy shooting his rockets, obviously. He's contributing more to the fight than you are.
-
Just no. Support includes all strategies and distraction is one of the important aspects. How will the rocket man get a shot off if he's locked down? Everyone has a chance to help. Everyone deserves their share of loot for doing so. Back on topic its a perfectly valid query, i think the most reasonable solution is to dc afk players or a penalty system similar or more severe to reach for repeat offenders.

People are way to lazy to report someone for going AFK. Disconnecting AFK players isn't a great idea either, because sometime players have to leave for a few minutes. What if I have to go to the bathroom or take a phone call?

You're right , though if there isnt a way to resolve it, this will be the pit fall to the game, cheaters and exploiters ruining the quality of the game.
-
Not necessarily
-
Assuming he's not missing, he's killing more enemies than you are. Hence, he's contributing more.
-
he's got a point you know , if something like the devil walker has got you in its sights and leveling that beast of a cannon that seems to have the capacity to one shot people , your not going to get a lot of shots off or your going to die . its the same for raid bosses in borderlands 2 , those raid boss will whittle down your hp quickly if their sole attention is on you , I only managed to beat some off them cause I had guys to keep them off me . in all honestly I don't believe loot will be based on contribution of damage or so forth , it will be likely as equal as private boss fights .
-
But he's able to kill that amount because they aren't focussing on him, they're focussing on the guy that's close.
-
Then you get a distraction bonus, like the Suppression Assist in BF3.
-
That's true, I wish they'd have some way to gauge how much suppressing they did though you know?
