In my mind Fred or one of the surviving Spartan IIs would be the one leading all of the Spartans as well as one of them being in charge of the Spartan detachment on Infinity. One of the things I found really stupid about 343i's take on the Spartan IVs was having Spartans sitting on their butts up on Infinity and being the ones directing ops....that's just -blam!-ing stupid, why put a Spartan in a job that a normal human being can fill just fine? It's a complete waste of resources. And while still a little on the dumb side, it at least makes a little more sense having Spartan flying some Pelicans around or being a shuttle service for other Spartans....but just sitting around in places like Infinity or some command center doing nothing but directing ops? -___-
