Honestly, I think you've got it backwards. I think that it will be very similar to the difficulty in Borderlands in that all enemies will be within a few levels higher or lower than you at all times. That way it is the same difficulty for everyone. MoreConsole speculated that in public events, all enemies and all weapons of all of the guardians are somewhat balanced. So that everyone can help out equally. For example, if someone who is level 7 wanted to play against some Vex on Venus with his friend who is level 70, he could, while still being a reasonable force on the field. Update: Glimmer isn't a race. It is the currency. Like gold in other games. Also: Those flying pyramids (I believe) are the ships of the Vex. That part is entirely speculation, but it kindof makes sense. Bungie said that the Vex will play an important role in the campaign, and those ships could be similar to the Pillar of Autumn in Halo, where they are mostly just in cutscenes.

  • The first point you make is fair game. If it's like Borderlands, then it'd make sense, but remember that Borderlands increases enemy level by location, not just player level. If you go back to the start of Borderlands with level 50 gear, you kick ass. But at the same time, if you're in a game hosted by a level 50 and you're halfway through the map? You're going to get owned. It's dependant on a lot of factors. I'm still working out the kinks. Someone suggested a Fallout-esque difficulty tree, where locations are never "shut off" but rather, you have to get past some really nasty opponents before you can progress. The second point is null and void, seeing as I said "race once thought to be known as the Glimmer", not "race known as the Glimmer". I know that Glimmer is a currency now. I've seen the E3 demo, ya know. Thirdly, nope. Look again at the art board in the OP. The Vex board is clearly seen by the robots with one red eye each and a fan-shaped head. The ships in the background there are theirs. The final board in yellow is this mystery race, and in articles online, many people mention these obsidian pyramid ships which "Bungie are not talking about at this time". That's clear to me that they're not related to the Vex, which have already been revealed.

  • Yeah, I misunderstood your wording on the Glimmer part, I was just clarifying. Sorry 'bout that. And the Pyramid thing was just a thought I had while I was typing. Haha
