Entire Destiny Series To Be Released On Xbox 360?

Its probably much too soon to get an answer to this question, but i was wondering if the whole Destiny series would be released to the Xbox 360. There are many questions that arise when trying to decide which console to get Destiny on. I plan on getting Destiny on the Xbox 360 because thats the console that me and my gaming buddies all play on. Here are some questions and concerns i have about this decision.. Will the entire Destiny Series be released to the Xbox 360? In the case that the subsequent Destiny releases are not going to be available for the Xbox 360, will i have to start buying them on the Xbox One to get any kind of continuity from my Destiny service record? Given the way the Xbox One is looking, should me and my friends just get on with it and buy a PS4? Is anyone else going through a bit of a crisis while making this decision? Thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Any kind of official statement regarding this subject would be extremely helpful! Thank you Bungie!

  • I've been a fan of Bungie for quite some time. In that time the most important aspect I've found in them is their dedication to the community. They're not in it for the money(although the cash is a solid plus). They are in it to develop a quality game that is both entertaining and immersive. Destiny has secretly been in production for quite some time. References to the game can be found in Halo ODST. Because of this they were working with the 360 and PS3 which explains it's release on the current gen consoles. However, it's almost a handicap to release the next chapter of the Destiny saga on the current gens. Both Microsoft and Sony will be pushing customers to their new consoles. The new tech in these consloles will allow for even greater immersion and gameplay. These factors alone would divert most work int he studio towards developing the next-gen game. As sad as I am to say it, I feel the next chapters will not be releasing on the current gens. It's simply not worth it. By the time the next game comes out the 360 and PS3 will be severely outdated.

  • Despite what this forum would have everyone believe based on polls, most people likely aren't going to get a next-gen console right away. So companies are releasing on this gen because if they don't, that's a HUGE number of people that won't buy their game. That reasoning will hold less and less true as time goes on. I have no doubt later installments will only be on next-gen. None at all. I read that Bungie was working on it, but there are issues out of their control. So... we don't know.

Considering they (Bungie) are planning to be involved with this series for the next 10 years, I sincerely hope not.

  • I sincerely doubt the next destiny installment will be released on the 360, they are just allowing some overlap to make the transition easier on people but they'll really want to take advantage of the new generations power and not be limited by the older systems
