I skimmed it. It needed less sales and more pitch.
You want me to create an official forum for each Faction?

Please doe that !

Instead of creating new forums, how about adding something that is a bit less interactive but puts just as much emphasis on "making alliances." Just as an idea, how about under "settings", users can chose a faction (or none if they wish.) Then, on the box that appears when a user's name is clicked, there would be some notification indicating their selection. Maybe just a symbol of the faction in open space or a cover photo behind the user's name and that is it! (I personally feel as though that white space is in need of more pizazz.) This way, users can take part in these alliances if they want to without it being a huge, complex system of programming or overdose of forums. All you do is click a name and see what faction they support (And, obviously, it would be editable in case we change our minds when we find out more about them.) Just an idea.

that would be interesting...but pointless till we actually know what the goals/purpose of each of the factions are (most likely a vague goal of reclaiming our lost treasures)

Edited by DEZARATH: 7/4/2013 5:36:12 PMSeems legit until you take into account that in a day of explaining the FWC Core's philosophy in this thread to provide a safe and neutral setting it has seen ten new members join in under 24 hours. Guys all I'm doing is trying to do is point out that not all gamers want to be jump through clan hoops and role playing to build friend lists, while engaged in Bungie's Faction mechanic. Some will and that's fine. I'm just saying adding a neutral setting directly controlled by Bungie is a far better outcome than stumbling around the Group section when Factions might directly effect the game and your experience in it.

agreed

Seconded.

Wow. Lot's of great chatter in here. Keep it rolling. You'll learn more about the Factions in time. Glad you like the idea of making alliances, though.

Are there enough people just in the destiny forum to make it worth while? Too much splintering can turn a smallish community into a ghost-town.
-
As far as I know I post religiously in the Destiny, Gaming, and Community forums so my time is equally spent between the main forums. The FWC core acts more as place holders for events or allows it's members to just exchange tags and getting to know their new friend-list. I can't speak for the other members of the other factions wanting to use a official Bungie Faction forum other than FWC core will be doing the same thing only now it's open and visible to everyone to pursue their own Destiny experience under the FWC in a true neutral setting that protects all walks of gamers participating in the celebration of Bungies new IP.

Edited by Coup de Grace: 7/4/2013 2:22:10 AMWell, having something on the website for each faction to get together would definitely support their importance in the game. It would be like having some types of clans already in the game, and giving them a place to chat would be a great way to flesh that out. I think Agent's suggest for an official Group for each faction would do well for that. BenjaFriend also brings up a good point about the hash tags

Deej here is your Pitch.. I say to you bring us our own faction forums not because we ask. I would say do it because the community is growing into Destinies Factions. We are doing more than supporting the game. We as a community are making friends that we will go I n to battle with. This is important to you to as you will be along side us at launch playing. These forums will keep the rif raf out and allow us as Factions to build a structured set of fireteams and a place to connect directly with our faction members and to complete missions together and get help from friends. This we as FWC bring to your plate.

Edited by PH0T0Nman: 7/4/2013 2:16:14 AMIsn't it a little early to start dividing into actual factions when we don't actually know how the system works on the whole? (just to repeat the comments below)

How about an official private group for each Faction?
-
Not a bad idea either, and probably easier to do.
-
Edited by Agent: 7/3/2013 11:02:30 PMIt would promote more community involvement in private groups and the web team would have a reason to finally make some much-needed updates to groups.
-
yeah, Deej, make that happen! RED POWER!

Isn't that what the hashtag is for?
-
Explain this hash tag... I guess I must be pretty green.
-
Edited by BenjaFriend: 7/3/2013 6:48:24 PMWell whenever you create a post, right under where you put the text of the actual post, there is a little hash tag bar. It will have the name of the forum you are posting in already in it. You can put, for example, "#FWC". Then if someone follows that hash tag, they see everything with that hash tag on it.

Hmm, thanks.
-
No problem. It's probably gonna take a while to get used to it's kinda funky.

We thank you for the response.
