At the end of the Wendy Davis attempt to filibuster the SB5 Abortion bill [Context] and the crowds raucous (and highly inappropriate) noise level, the attempt to vote on the issue failed, as the voting was concluded after midnight. However, Texas House Republicans attempted to change the timestamp of when the vote actually happened (actually changing it FROM 6/26/13 to 6/25/13, so it wasn't just a mistype) to make it seem as if the vote happened on time.
This is a felony. It's perjury, it's knowingly tampering with a government document, it's still up on their website, and my money says that nothing will come of it.
The bill WAS officially ruled as being "after midnight" by Lieutenant Governor Dewhurst, but only after he had previously ruled it as being "before midnight", which it obviously was not (I'm pretty sure it was at 12:03 AM but I cannot find where I read that).
Thoughts?

In their defense, they didn't get a fair vote on it cause Wendy decided to hold the entire democratic process hostage over "Muh Feelings!" Was it wrong to do this? Yes. Bus as stated last night in Daz's thread, it's also wrong to stall the entire business of the State of Texas because you personally didn't like the bill.

Edited by brandorobot: 6/27/2013 7:40:50 PMThey may have lost the battle on that bill but they got to pass voter restrictions so I'm sure they don't feel too bad.
