I might go with the One because of tradition between me and M$ but... $500... Lol.

Logical purchases trump tradition. Many people are making the switch.

ultimately, these consoles are the exact same. If DRM and a once-a-day, mere kilobytes of data transfer really bug someone then so be it. For the Xbox, as a consumer who did his own personal and public research, that is the console that I find more interesting. The price tag is a bit jarring, but you can't expect anything on the forefront of console gaming technology to be $300. A $100 savings is nice, but ultimately they're both investments, and people should do as much research as possible to determine which investment they want to make.

I'm willing to go and buy the new console because i'm fine with everything they've mention. I'm always on the internet and I don't buy used games. The $500 price tag sets me off a bit but i'm sure the price will drop a bit by the time of Black Friday and so on. The only thing that would bother me is that I won't be able to share games with my brother as easily as I used to.

It would be easier to share with your brother than before. If you live in the same house (use the same xbox), you would both be able to play all your games (even arcade titles). If you use separate Xbox's, you could list each other as family, and you would be able to play any game that the two of you collectively own. He would have instant access to all of your games, and you would be able to play any of his games as well. You wouldn't have to worry about discs or anything like that, and you would be able to play the same game simultaneously (or at least, that seems to be the current info. The game owner can play the game any time, and one of the gamers on the family list would also be able to play at a time.)

all reasonable concerns, which are good to have. But I do applaud you for thinking by yourself and making the decision instead of listening to all the fanfags on this forum as of late.
