Destiny release speculation
I know the time of release for Destiny has been thrown around a lot with some people saying that it'll probably be released early next year and others saying this year. Maybe it will be this year. Think about it this way. With a gameplay trailer on the way soon, and a whole truck load of information and media being presented at E3, maybe Bungie is gearing up for a Fall release of Destiny. Even Gameinformer, in their recent article on the new trailer said that

I'm taking that with a grain of salt but still, it makes one think that maybe Bungie is ready to give us Destiny.
This also brings up the fact that Call of Duty: Ghosts is being released this year. If Activision were to release Destiny in the fall, then they have two heavy hitters on their hands. CoD would most likely sell millions and then there would be Destiny, which would hopefully if not absolutely sell millions more. Activision can't lose in that sense. I might be wrong there, so take that with a grain of salt.
But again maybe, hopefully, Destiny will come out this year. What does everybody else think?

This guy has was clearly disappointed with this game because he only has a level 27 Warlock with some rare weapons and armor. I would kill for that Zombie Apocalypse he has. He doesn't know what he's sitting on.

I think that Destiny will release sometime either fall of 2013 or beginning of 2014. With Amazon and Gamestop guessing June 30, 2014 it couldn't be that late. It would lose a good sum of its attention and hype by then. And my guess it will release in the fall because of the next gen console release dates in late November. Either that day or a little bit after so people who are preordering the consoles and the game can play it ASAP. Best chance for Activison to release it. Saying 2014 for release date is probably to throw people off track or they are not sure when and guessed 2014. But with about 4 months till a possible release and a great game play demo in June it has to be this year.

2 RepliesI'm cautiously hopeful that Destiny would be able to be released by, say, late this year (November/December) but at the same time, a game this big? I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back as late as February 2014. Even if that's the case, it's more important that Bungie gets the time they need to iron out the kinks and create a totally kick-ass final product for us, as opposed to pushing something out the door earlier than intended that's not the game they want to make.

The only thing im concerned about is it being like defiance...Terrible stress testing and terrible patching... Ive played my share of mmo's but If/When bungie desides to stress test there servers ( if it will even require that ) that they dont put a time table on it so for example stess testing would begin May 1st and go till they decide they have everything where it should be for release. Maybe even leave some content that should be in the stress test out so they can drop a big patch and see how it sets.
