Been keeping an eye on this for the last hour or so, but this is the first I've heard of any "beheading". Also, you can bet your jimmies if they'd have been any other religion, "terrorism" wouldn't even be considered. It's just a couple of nutjobs who decided to (poorly) make a public statement, nothing warranting the label of "terrorism" from that one relatively minor attack. I feel sorry for the British Muslims now who are going to get various amounts of shit from other ignorant British fucktards in the name of revenge. GG news media.

  • Wyld, I generally agree with you, but what is this other than textbook terrorism? A couple of people waving guns around and beheading people while requesting an audience? Jesus Christ Wyld, their ethnicity has nothing to do with it.

  • TBH wylde, what other religion at this time and age commits such acts in the name of god, in first world countries, meant to spread fear and hatred?

  • Watch the video of the terrorist. There is, partly, a political motive to this, ergo by definition it is terrorism.

  • Except that Muslims are the religion responsible for the vast majority of terrorism in the world, let alone the UK (not counting the Irish, who've died down now). So no, if they weren't muslims, they wouldn't've been called terrorists.

  • That depends, most people who go on rampages aren't terrorists by the most commonly accepted definition of the term. Typically, there has to be a clear and concise religious, political or otherwise ideological reason motivating the attack. Further, Christians have regularly been charged with terrorism. Breivik was brought up on terrorism charges, and Huntaree members are dragged into court every now and again.

  • I don't think I even like you, but I agree with what you say. The standard British Mob is full of idiots.
TWO suspected Islamist terrorists have been shot after a soldier was allegedly beheaded in south east London today. The victim – who was wearing a Help For Heroes t-shirt – was said to have been attacked by men armed with knives, including a meat cleaver. Eyewitnesses said they were “hacking” at the victim “like a piece of meat”. The men were then shot after trying to attack police responding to the chilling incident. Senior Whitehall sources said the attackers are thought to have tried to film their attack whilst shouting "Allahu Akbar" - God is Great. The men were said to have been of Muslim appearance. • It was one guy attacked by two people and subsequently dispatched by police fairly quickly. Apart from the publicity and, to some extent the religious phrases, what makes it different to every other violent crime in England involving weapons?

  • Also, after the attack, they ran up and down the street asking people to take pictures of them. Smacks of terrorism to me.

Quickly? How about 20mins before police shown up, also it's considered a terror plot because all the failed plots have been exactly what has happened today, killing and beheading soldiers in the UK It was mentioned like 5 minutes ago on the live feed

  • Fine, along with previous points, including the exclusion of non premeditated murders, how is it any different?

because the murders tend to run off or try to escape not wait 20 minutes for police to arrive and attack them when they do. Probably assumed they would be unarmed, well the bastards assumed wrong and got shot

  • Well then, end of story. They didn't turn on anyone else at the scene, blow anything up or make even more of a spectacle. It's not like anyone on the streets is at high risk of the same happening to them.

  • Well, if you are to take away the political and religious undertones of the crimes, then it wouldn't be terrorism. However, his religious phrases during the attacks and political explanation for his actions directly implies that this is, in fact, terrorism. In short, you can't say "aside from x and y," because those are important aspects to defining the crimes.
