This is from Activision Blizzard's Q1 2013 conference call.
ActiBlizz already hinted at Destiny not coming out in 2013, but here you have it in black and white.

Yes, I know that Activision already said that you shouldn't expect Destiny in 2013. I just wanted to share this so that the people that don't believe it get more evidence. As you can see from the answers, there are still a few who don't want to accept it or something.

Good. Hopefully the next generation xbox will have a price drop by Destiny's release.

I thought this was common knowledge. You learn something everyday.

Edited by POKEY CLYDE: 5/11/2013 5:36:51 PMCall of Duty Online is a China based Call of Duty game. It's not for North America. It's free-to-play with microtransactions. Activision wanted to break into a different market, and Free to Play/microtransactions/subscrip games are popular in China. No single player from my understanding, just multi-player. So that's why it's 'online', oh and I believe it's for PC. It's been in beta since January I believe, and they are working on a pricing model for microtransactions/subscrips (possibly). I actually don't know if it's out yet in the Chinese market, but if it's been in BETA since January, a 2013 'release' seems probable. The reason why it's not factored into the 2013 financials, is because it's a risky venture and it's a new market for Activision, something they DON'T or CAN'T possibly know the results to, even close to an estimate. They know how to do AAA titles worth $60, but they don't know how microstransactions, F2P or the Chinese market will affect their investment. SO they couldn't possibly put out an estimate saying "We'll make this much from this game", because they don't know, but a 2013 'release' for Call of Duty Online seems likely (to me anyway). As for Destiny, it's a new IP at the end of a generations cycle with A LOT of investment, it being always online, speculated to have microtransactions and not knowing the success of Bungie among Playstation users, it's pretty risky, and it's not easy to put forth a "We'll make this back from this game in 2013". This slide is obviously from way back when, and I believe there has since been a statement from Activision saying that Destiny is more likely to release in 2013 now.

Lol, I remember when we first found this out and people were like "I'm gonna wait until Bungie says something." Newsflash folks, its not up to Bungie when the game releases. Thats down to Activision, so we'll be hearing it from then when the game is actually coming out. Or in a trailer or something.
-
Is it? I don't doubt it will probably be next year release but, where does this image come from? Also, I'd like to point out that it says long-term, not necessarily after 2013.
-
I'm still in denial. Given how early we can preorder the game and the Bungie-Activision contract stating planned release of Fall 2013, I'm really hoping Activision is right now lying.
-
This is old news, not to be rude its just most people know this....i dont think they know if destiny will be ready by then so they didnt include it...
-
I asked EB games, their machine thingy told them 2014.
-
...Call of Duty Online??? They're making a Call of Duty MMO.... O.o
-
Me thinks this will be used alot around the coming months
-
Tbh im not that fussed I think they should take their time to fine tune it, I'll have GTA 5 to keep me busy soon anyway
-
Considering it says' unannounced,' that picture is months old. And they already said like half a year ago they weren't planning on it being in 2013. So... you're a few months late, friend.
