Honestly, most of the songs just repeated the same beats over and over again with little or no variation in tempo or pitch to make them different. Not only that, but the same songs are played over and over again in-game.
Anyone else thought it sucked?

yeah sure
-
So, how many soundtracks in Halos 1-3 used Gregorian chants?
-
Reach's soundtrack was generic, Halo 4's was great. I'd rate it up there with the others, with the exception of the godly ODST OST. Oh, and 117 - Halo 4's main theme - is better than the original Halo theme. Yup, I said it.
-
The song implementation was pretty bad, yes. But the songs themselves? I strongly disagree. *flamesuit* Destiny's soundtrack on the other hand (from what we've heard)...
-
I still enjoyed it, not as much as Combat Evolved or Wars, though.
-
Repetitive? Extremely. Generic? No, at least generic would have been more pleasing to the ears...
-
Halo 3 soundtrack is still my favorite. Gives me feels every time.

Edited by Kafuu Chino: 5/4/2013 4:17:49 AMI thought the songs were good, they were just not used very good in the game. Listen to Kazuma Jinnouchi's compositions (Volume 2), he really captured the Halo sound, while evolving it. This was something that I thought Neil Davidge could have done better, yet I kind of don't mind, as I find each track to be very unique and different from one another. As for tracks being used over and over, that was just the case for Spartan Ops. In the campaign I believe tracks never get used more than twice, however Spartan Ops is 50 missions long at roughly 20 minutes per mission, I don't believe another whole soundtrack would be created just for Spartan Ops, so songs would have to be used over and over again (which frankly did get kind of annoying). Welp, just my two-cents. Have a nice evening :)

You don't say?
-
I thought it didnt live up to the standards set by previous soundtracks. Yes I too believe it sucked however it had some decent tracks, I must give credit where credit is due.
-
Did you listen to volume 2?
-
Jinnouchi's work was great. But yeah, I was disappointed by all of Davidge's pieces.
-
How it was used in-game? Yes. The actual songs on the soundtrack? No.
-
Yeah it wasn't that great.

Edited by Prototape: 5/3/2013 7:39:09 PMI dunno, I liked the soundtrack. It definitely wasn't what we're used to, but it was good. I got the LE soundtrack and I'm happy with it, I can't say the same for the LE copy of the game itself. I suppose I can just attribute this to the fact that I've been a fan of Davidge before he even signed up to do the Halo 4 soundtrack.

Correct.

I agree.
