I wish people would understand that it's likely not going to be out in 2013.

Ha. Nobody knows bro, and I think if they didn't want us to speculate Bungie would come out and say "You won't be playing Destiny this year". There's nothing to understand until they do so.
-
Then why wouldn't they already have a release date or approximate release date this close to launch? And why would one of the higher-ups at Activision have said that it doesn't work into their 2013 plans?
-
My theory is that they are waiting for a specific release date because Microsoft will announce it as a release title with a big bang. As far as Activision goes, they are also subject to the release dates of consoles so must remain silent on the matter. If they were to say they WERE counting on income from those games, it would imply the release of the consoles as well. We are "likely" going to see a 2014 release, but it is not unreasonable to consider otherwise.

What are the chances of us seeing a release date at E3? I'm no business expert, but it would seem stupid to not release Destiny during the Christmas season, for obvious reasons. And I don't expect for them to wait about 2 years for the Christmas season of 2014. That would just be plain rediculous.

A more likely event would be when they announce the Xbox 720 in late May. (At least that's when it's expected.) Then since every console that it will be playable on will have been revealed, it will be a lot easier to go forward with a release date.

That would be awesome. I want to know as soon as possible.
