I was playing Halo Reach the other day and noticed the population was at about 20k. I was surprised at how high it was, so I checked Halo 4's population. It was barely 30k. Halo 4 is barely leading in population. A half year old game is losing to a game two years older than it, from the SAME franchise. I just... wow... just wow.
I don't want to see the Halo Franchise die like this. It's not nearly epic enough. I want it to die in a fiery explosion, not slowly being snuffed out in the night. So as a fan, how would you propose we fix this dilemma?

Edited by linkdude64: 4/6/2013 3:42:12 PMWe can't fix it, and Bungie can't fix it. Halo is lost, wandering, confused, and scared. But extremely wealthy. And Microsoft is going to keep it that way, until it stops making money. Halo could be fixed with love from its creators, but Bungie has moved on. Edit: It /did/ end epically, man. Like ancient epic poetry, with beautiful symbolism. With the Chief entering the cryotube at the end of Halo 3.

Another 'Halol4 has low population' thread. Okay, we get it already. No need to make these threads so often.

Halo should of finished with Reach. To me Reach was a brilliant Halo game but not as good as Halo 3. Halo 3 would have been a perfect finish but Halo Reach would be good too! Halo 4...ugh COD clone. Generic SCI-FI COD clone.

I think after 343's abortion of a presentation at GDC, most of the people holding out hoping Halol 4 would get better have finally given up on 343 and Halol 4. As a result, those same fans still ove Halo, so the only two viable games left (that involve multiplayer) are Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. Personally; I've been cruising H3 and Reach for the last several months since I returned my copy of Halol 4, and with each week it gets a bit easier and easier to find games. It'll be funny to think about how MS would come down on 343 should Reach and/or H3 overtake Halol 4 in daily populace. that would make me laugh indeed.

If I need to give further explanation why Halo 4 is doing successful, I'm gonna' blow a gasket.

Halo 4 is number 4 on the Activity charts. Reach is number 18. You really think a population of 10k would make that much of a difference? There's a lot more people playing H4 than you think. Not saying it's population shouldn't be higher, but it's MUCH higher than Reach and H3. They appear similar because they run on different population counters.

Edited by Pfhortnite: 4/4/2013 10:44:18 PMWell, it does kind of suck and gaming mentality these days is "in with the new, out with the old."

Edited by SergeantFlood: 4/4/2013 11:44:18 PM343 should have been fired a long long time ago. Should be punished.

The population will only get worse and worse. Halo 4 was the blow that finally sunk the already sinking ship. 343i fails miserably.
-
After the GDC panel, the population dropped for 10k.

Edited by CoRaMo: 4/4/2013 2:40:43 PMMaybe a lot more of the Halo 4 players are away on spring break?

Edited by antony X1000: 4/4/2013 9:17:07 AMIsn't the Reach population counter broken though? Last time I played it, which was quite a while ago now, the populations were the exact same for a few days. That isn't to say Halo 4's population isn't ridiculously low, but I doubt the gap is that small.
