I doubt it will be so much tech as it is lore and story. Remember, the presentors are Staten and Barett, who are writers and artists respectively. World creation is so much more than just building the actual terrain, it's breathing actual life into the universe.

Edited by externalmemory: 3/18/2013 5:39:06 AM1. Seems like it'd have to be a bit spoiler-ish in order to be of any help to game creators... 2. It's a much better opportunity to talk about the design-execution pipeline of making a more nonlinear, more open world and how other elements (writing of course and overall theme) tie into this. After all, this is a big change of gears for the studio, something on which they've only scratched the dust on the surface in the past. Attendees looking to benefit from the studio's experience I'm sure would like to know more on the dev/design side about what makes Destiny bigger and more ambitious than past projects. "Tech demo" or no, I'm sure they can talk to that transition while remaining strategic on things not set in stone or not yet planned for communication.

If Destiny could be spoiled so easily by talking about it's lore and universe in an hour presentation, they are doing it wrong. As for the rest, we'll see.
-
On review, you're absolutely right. They could indeed talk for an hour about art setting and story alone and how that figures into the design broadly with what they've already teased about it. There's a lot I don't know about game development and what goes on at GDC. I haven't been there, so I was making a big assumption.

I also hope they show very little tech and more about the game with almost all gameplay itself. Bungie it is time to reveal the actual game and what we will be doing.
-
Lol, it's not going to be gameplay. It's not that type of event.

I know what GDC is, however, there is plenty of scope for gameplay videos with developer commentary about tech, process and all that. I'd rather they share the gameplay and overlay knowledge than show grognok and other development tools we or the industry will never touch. Presentations or panels are great too but overall they know what they show will release to the public too.

That's what I thought too. As said in the description, it will be very heavy on concept art, so I doubt much of the actual game will be shown if any. But regardless of what it is, I really hope it's one of those GDC presentations you can watch at GDC Vault without a subscription.
