The earth after humans in thousands of years.
So I'm writing things. I dont see explanations of plot details as being a necessary thing to do right about now. But my story takes place thousands of years after the collapse of the modern society through nuclear warfare (scratch every post apocalyptic cliche from your mind right now. It's a lot more original than it sounds).
My Question is. What kinds of things would survive thousands of years into the future after man to tell future visitors/people what we were like. I know plastic will be around for a while. What else? Is it possible someone could find a US flag? Records of our civilization in any way? In-tact structures?
Google Searches are not being very helpful tonight. Though this might be from simple poor wording in my searches. Those of you with the knowledge, please help.

The first two sentences + the title made me think you we're gonna write a fake journal so In 1 thousand years when we bomb ourselves into barely anyone left people will find it and make a show in another 400 years called "Ancient Humans" Needless to say I was disappoint in the lack of parody in this thread. ot: Use your imagination but keep it real. idk.
