Honestly, I can't see why everyone loved Skyfall. It was a good film in its own right but it was a terrible bond film. There was hardly anything bond about it besides the name in the title and the opening credits. Bond's key advantage over most of the villains is his ingenuity, he's very good at using the environment to his advantage. What does he do in skyfall? Shoot a few people and kill the main villain with a knife in the back. It's anticlimactic and really doesn't suit the bond saga in any way.

You mean a guy who's a genius hacker guy and just disappears with no explanation other than "oh, he hacked our systems, it was a tarp?"

No, his performance, his madness. I liked him in No Country For Old Men as well.

Yeah, they didn't really get any sort of development on him since the entire friggin' movie was one giant chase scene.

But there were slow sequences were they took the time to explain his entire character, bit by bit.
