- 343 Guilty Spark.[/quote]Why would 343 GS confuse John for a Forerunner so many times? Is he crazy? That's the popular opinion, but why point that out time and time again?
Why reintroduce 343 GS in [i]Primordium[/i] after he was supposedly killed in Halo 3, and reveal that a Forerunner AI isn't always localized to one construct? It seems like a very significant plot point, yet it's never been fully addressed.
What if 343 Guilty Spark wasn't as crazy as he seemed?
I'm calling it: in Halo 5, the changes the Librarian made to Chief's physiology fully manifest and unlock his Geas: the Bornstellar Didact.
If I recall correctly, even the humans in [i]Cryptum[/i] and [i]Primordium[/i] had to have their Geas unlocked in some way, why not Chief? What if the Librarian did more than grant the Chief an immunity to The Composer, and just didn't have time to fill Chief in about his Geas what with The Didact finding them?

I've got a few theories floating around. I think it's possible that Forerunner isn't a species, but a title held by those that protect the Mantle. Since humans were supposed to be the ones to take that spot once the Forerunners were gone, it's possible that they are now the Forerunners. Also, since Chief never removes his armor, and Spark sees the armor as very very similar to Forerunner armor (probably because some of the tech comes from reverse engineering Covenant armor, which is based off of Forerunner relics), he thinks Chief could be Forerunner. Another possibility is that, since the Librarians took special care of the human species and saw them as the next carriers of the Mantle, Spark sees humans as "Inheritors of all they left behind." When he says "You [i]are[/i] Forerunner" he is most likely referring to that fact, rather than Chief literally being a Forerunner. The reason the Librarian was able to do that special thing to Chief was likely because she put the possibility for it into the ancient humans, similar to how she was able to add things like the Geas to ancient humans like Chakas.
