It's happened before. I cuddled him and told him to talk to me and let it all out. I spent hours listening to, reasoning with and talking to him.
I feel slightly ashamed though that there's only a couple of people I can do that for.

I don't think that's something you should feel regret about as long as you're there for the people you can be there for. The world's not perfect, there are plenty of people out there you won't be able to help, but you can't regret something, or you shouldn't regret something that you never and could never have had a hand in to start with. Just do what you can for the people you can help, and the rest that's out of your hands? For better or for worse, what happens happens, but at the end of the day you'll have still done your part.
