I have tried to create a chapter over two weeks ago. It has not been approved, but it is still listed as "waiting to be approved." How long did any of your chapters take to get processed? Any other help would also be appreciated.
Posted by: mrsmiley Wow! Thanks for the plug, Halo! ;) That was a good explaination. It really isn't easy to describe the 7th Column to people who are new to B.net. I have always had a hard time trying to tell people about MSXL when I mention things I am doing for it. "So it's your site?" Yeah "So what's the address?" Well it's part of Bungie... it gets worse from there. Has someone actually written out a viable description of the 7th Column yet? Something more than a FAQ?
Oh no problem. I only link people to chapters where there are videos of me being called a -blam!-. :D I should bookmark this so everytime I have to explain chapters and the t7h column, I dont have to type it all up and find all of those links again. Thats the best description I made. If enough people asked I would just make an FAQ at my chapter and link them to that. Wait.. *has an idea* :D
Posted by: goweb You may have forgotten, but Bungie are working on a small side-project. Called Halo 2.
Well, those comments are kinda naïve, since Bungie has a full-time online team which is basically devoted to b.net and the 7th column, and have little to do with actual game development (at least, I'm pretty sure :s). So if the online team works on the 7th Column, it's not really a drain on H2 development. - Reiginko
Posted by: Halo53 Chapters are basically... I guess you could call them fan sites. If you click on anyone's profile, you can see what chapters they are a part of. You could join someone else's chapter, make one yourself, or do both. The chapters have forums, news, events, databases, polls, themes etc. The septagon, the forum you are in now, is technically part of the chapter called Chapter Founders, a chapter for people who have, well, founded chapters. Newer members like yourself don't really know that, they think its just one of the forums. Basically, all the chapters make up the 7th Column. If you want to join Chapter Founders, I suggest you make a chapter for yourself by going to the 7th column main page. And if you are looking for active chapters on the 7th column, one of the better chapters with alot of members only exclusives is Mr. Smiley's Xbox Lounge, founded by MrSmiley. Check it out.
Wow! I seem to have made that comment awhile ago, do I smell copy right infringment? (just kidding) But yes, be patient, it'll come soon enough, remember sketch is still probably whipped from E3, and he's the only one that is really approving chapters. (that i know of) Just jot down good ideas you have while waiting for it to be approved!

I've been here for a day, and I think it's about time I found out WHAT chapters are. Anyone who makes a wise comment about books will be shot.

Just be patient. My first chapter took 3 days, my next 2 (both disbanded now) took about 4-5 days and my newest one took about 2-3 weeks. It just depeneds whenever sketchfactor can get around to accepting it. It gets frustrating at times, but I always looked at it and thought I would rather them work on Halo 2 than accept my chapter :?

it took two weeks for me, for others it took 1 day, it all depends on how busy they are. And i'm not sure if alot of chapters will be aproved at this moment.
