•
Posted by: CriticalSpartan I used to live in the East of England and had some good friends there but when I moved to the West, I couldn't see them much. When we finally got broadband and an Xbox it was Halo 2 that kept me and my friends in contact really well. It's better than being on the phone because you're not only talking; you're also sniping someone or driving a Warthog or sneaking about carrying a bomb. So Halo kept old friends together (and still does with Halo 3) For Halloween this year I decided to stay in with my girlfriend and it was a case of do I pay attention to Halo 3 or my girlfriend. Well it was Zombie playlists so I was like "screw that, it's Halo time" so I'm sitting there pressing buttons and playing with my stick and my girlfriend decides I look sexy in my headset (I can't understand how that works) and starts doing unspeakable things to my love injection. I couldn't concentrate on the game all that much but it was worth it.
^ My idol. Anyway, like a lot of other guys who have posted on here, I've met a lot of my best friends playing Halo. In fact, one of my long-lasting friendships from a town I have since moved away from started almost exclusively because of Halo: CE. I met the guy through a mutual friend and played Halo for the first time on his XBox. I loved it so much that I would go over to the guy's house just to play Halo. A few months later I bought my own XBox and a copy of Halo. I got to love Halo so much that I preordered Halo 2 and later Halo 3, and went to the midnight release of Halo 3. I attribute all of my Halo joy to the guy who started it all for me, my old friend. We still keep in touch to this day. Also, many people know me almost exclusively by my Halo name, Sniper Steve. It always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling at LAN parties when I hear the guys on the other team screaming, "DAMN YOU SNIPER STEVE!!!" Lol
