When Halo:CE first came out I was in my senior year of high school; myself and most of my friends really got into it, and we played it co-op and did LANs whenever we got the chance. Shortly after i graduated my parents moved and I went with them. When I first arrived at my new home I was halfway across the country from the friends I had known my whole life, and I didnt know anyone in the new town I had just moved into. I spent the first month or so sitting in my basement, playing my video games and looking for work since I wasnt ready to hop straight into college after moving. I was eventually iucky enough to get a job at the local gamestop; where I figured I would at least be able to make some money selling something that I loved. As it turned out, the guys who I worked with at gamestop regularly held Halo:CE LANs at their apartment, and after working at Gamestop for about 3 weeks, I was invited over. We LANned at least 4 times a week for the next 6 months, sometimes in excess of 10 hours straight. I became best friends with one of the guys who held the LANs, met another best friend, and through the LANs I was introduced to many other people with similar tastes with whom I am still very close friends with to this day. All in all I account most of the friends that I hang with today to those days before Xbox Live; when Halo:CE was the hottest game around and Halo LANs were the cool thing to do every night after work. Thank You Bungie!
