What if the religious and political threads are only temporary?
Maybe Bungie is just letting have some fun since it's a beta. Maybe they won't be allowed anymore after the beta is over. How would you feel about that?

Discussion on the mains is completely incomparable to discussion in the Secular Sevens, but it's alright, especially for an audience who's never bothered to partake in the discussions beforehand.

I doubt they're going away. The whole system seems to be built on people moderating content themselves. Some aspect might become a bit more tightly controlled policy wise though. I do think that once the initial shock of being able to prattle on about previously banned topics wears off, they will slowly go away. Until the new influx of users comes along, and also wants to prattle on about religion and politics for no reason other than they can. Then it wont go away until the forums die down because Bungie has once again gone dark or something. Rinse and repeat. At least its the beginning of a new cycle. That has to count for something.

Maybe its just part of a plan to let some of us vent our political and religious thoughts that have been pent up for so long.

I'm looking at one of those goshdarn threads. Also, where is the report button? (And the option to use the old forum...) EDIT: WOAH NECROBUMP. A lot of site changes have happened since I last posted this. I can't even make sense about my own post now. (Original posting date was Jan 18 at 9:08:58 PM. I wish bungie.net showed this info.)
