Teenagers that like bands such as The rolling stones, The Beatles...

Do you think they are considered weird by the rest of our youthful society? Every other teenager I talk to likes music such as Dubstep, Katy Perry, Among other stuff in the rap, hip hop or pop genre. When I say I like the bands like The Rolling Stones, David Bowie or Led Zeppelin they give me strange looks as if I'm a creature from mars. So do you think this is a cliche of other teenagers, or is it true?

 •
Posted by: SpartanMk18
Posted by: mityman50 The classics are classics for a reason: most people like them, and a lot of people will love them. Most people who really do like most all music will go through a time, could be a long time, exploring the classics.
I am still not done. I took a Survey of Rock and Roll class last year and I loved it. Though my tastes are always growing, I used to hate Metal when I was kid, now it's almost all I listen to. Even then my tastes for Metal is expanding. I find my self listening to darker stuff, Occasionally Pantera even. Yet I still go back and Listen to the Who, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Fats Domino, The Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, and Steely Dan. Here is the thing chaps, especially you younger chaps. Musical tastes always evolve. You look at my Pandora playlist you will see a lot of different things. From Phil Collins to Dick Dale, Tchaikovsky, Marshall Tucker, Queensrych, Offspring, William Shatner, and even an epic score playlist. It's not about fitting in with music, it's about listening to what your ears enjoy. Virtuosity comes in all shapes. From the Scrams of Halford, to the smoothness of Pete Townshend, and the kickass heavy hitting vocals of Bruce Dickenson. Just listen to what you dig, and dig what you listen to. Quiet night? Turn on some deep tracks like Eminence Front, or all of Dark Side of the Moon. Want some energy? Listen to some Thrash punk, or Alt Rock. Want something Mellow? Throw on Knights in White Satin. Just sit back and enjoy.
Bro, the Doors is one of the most awesome bands that ever existed. I have a complete collection album, or used to before I lost it. The only shame is that you can't sing most of it out loud without getting strange looks. 'RIIIIDE THE SNAAAKE..'
