Pokemon X and Pokemon Y announced for 3DS
Nintendo has announced Pokemon X and Pokemon Y for 3DS, the first handheld mainline Pokemon set in a breathtaking 3D world, for a worldwide release in October 2013.
The game features new starters Chespin (grass), Fennekin (fire), and Froakie (water)

[/quote] First and 2nd gen were remade because otherwise it would be impossible to get those pokemon on the DS. You were always able to put Ruby/Sapphire into your DS so I doubt they'll remake them.
