Weapons in Halo 3 deal, with the exception of plasma weapons, one type of damage. Players have 115HP, of those 70 are for shields. Melee deals 70pts dmg (or more if the weapon is bladed, dedicated melee weapon, or a heavy weapon). AR bullet does 7.5pts, BR bullet 6pts so the full burst is 18pts. he plasma weapons deal very low normal damage but have very large shield damage... The Spiker deals always same damage, but the reason it feels doing badly against the shields is the low rate of fire... and the fact you need to be quite good at leading shots.
