I think it's much more likely that Brutes, if you apply the niche mentality to Covenant units, will become CQC troops. Guys who rush in to dislodge dug in marines. Therefore I think the Spiker will evolve more into a semi-shotgun sorta thing, firing a cone of spikes, sort of like the Spike Grenade, which would be used for combating multiple opponents in a tight area. Of course that's a lot of 'I think's, I guess we'll see some time in the future...[/quote] We'll see. I just don't think that it's likely as it's easier to make something like the Spiker unique in the Sandbox than it is to make something like the Mauler unique in the Sandbox, given that the Shotgun is also in the game and the Mauler can't be dual-wielded anymore.
