Did you ever skip school?

Security / cops at my school were never really super uptight so skipping was fun. Any who our lunch is in the middle of a 2 hour class and once it started that's when we left. 600 kids going to the cafeteria created more than enough for our groups to sneak out. My friends and I would usually get a group of people who also want to leave (6-12 people). After that we all call each other and with the right timing and communication we splinter celled our way out the school past security and cops to the parking lot into our cars and woosh! We all benefited by helping each other get out and we got back to our group of friends and took off. After that we either went and chilled at someones house, went to eat at a restaurant, go to the mall, movies, or whatever and then went back for our 4th period. I don't know about you guys but High School was really -blam!- fun for me. The fact that mine was huge and wasn't strict made it even better.

 • I prefer to not miss any classes. If I just went for lunch, maybe, but that period is only like 40 minutes and sneaking + going somewhere is too much of a hassle. Most of all, I think the making up for it part sucks the most.

 • The staff at my highskool (and junior high, I think) would call my parents if I was ever marked absent from a class. So no, I never skipped. Not really any point in skipping class anyway.

 • No cause if I miss 3 lab classes without good reason I'd fail. Besides skipping is irresponsible and theirs no good reason to do it unless your very sick.

 •
Posted by: WinyPit82 I believe I'm granted one "mental health day" per year, but no, I wouldn't choose to skip school if given the opportunity (Making up work and falling behind is annoying).
This. Although high school was pretty much a cake walk.

 • A few times. Mostly if it was the last class and there was some kind of pep rally. My School didn't have security (Canada) so you could leave when you wanted and no one would stop you.

 • I only skipped classes like Woods and ceramic class. Even though I enjoined woods I wanted to go home and take a nap. I'd clock in leave and I'd have a friend clock me out. On my senior year I got an A even though I wasn't there half the time. [Edited on 01.07.2013 9:30 PM PST]

 • Quite often actually. In tenth grade I waited alone at my bus stop, so sometimes I would just walk into town, head to a secluded nearby lake and spend the day reading/listening to music.

 •
Posted by: Bradleigh But I have skipped an entire school day in one of the school's bathrooms. I slept in the stall.
I don't even OT: Yes. In high school, I skipped a couple times in order to do last-minute projects, as well as to get the Reach Beta. I also skipped a last-period class in senior year quite frequently, 'cause I hated to wait around for 2 hours prior to class, and he never took attendance. Last semester of college I slept in twice. • Have I ever left school after having been in the school already? No. But I have skipped an entire school day in one of the school's bathrooms. I slept in the stall. I was tired as -blam!-, I can't even explain how tired I was. Woke up at 2:10, and school got out at 2:20.

 • Between freshman and senior year in high school, I had over 100 missed days, the vast majority of which were me skipping in freshman and sophomore year. In college I think I missed 1 class over 4 years, and it was because I was like on-death's-door sick. I had a lot of friends in HS and liked enough of my classes/teachers. It just wasn't something I could do at that age.

 • >.> <.< One time, while all the others were off on their uni tour, me and the others who were waiting for the CPIT tour to rear its head were the only ones at school. Me and my friend spent most of the day in the music room, then left before lunch. Don't tell nobody, kapiche?

 • My high school let us leave school for lunch (which was awesome, by the way), and it was easy to leave school then. But I did very rarely, and my classwork didn't suffer because of it.

 • I went to a small private school where they actually cared about what their students were doing. But I was able to skip school a few times with my parents' permission. My mother would sometimes sign me out under the pretence of a doctor's appointment or something and we'd go get lunch and do other things instead, stuff like that. I never felt the desire to just skip classes for no reason, perhaps because I knew my parents were paying good money for me to get a decent education and I didn't want to waste that.

 • I do occasionally. But the 2nd semester of senior year is no -blam!- joke for what my teachers have planned. I will only skip school once this semester because of Senior ditch day. Otherwise, I will only skip school if I am legitimately sick. [Edited on 01.07.2013 8:20 PM PST]
