So I've been keeping this secret to myself for quite a while now. But, after all this time, I feel as if you, The Community, now deserve to know the secret that I have kept private for many months. And that secret is the joy of browsing Bungie.net on 90% zoom. It really is monumentally better than 100% zoom. You'd think that a measly 10% zoom couldn't really affect the way you view and navigate the site all that much, if at all, but it does. Very much so.
Whenever I venture back into the Stone Ages of 100% zoom, all of the lettering is blocky and child-like. It's as if the entirety of the site is spelled out like a ransom note or as if it's made of a toddler's alphabet blocks. When you see things in a 90% zoom perspective, posts are easier to read, less room on the page is taken up so you can see more things at one time, you get to see more of the sexy map of Puerto Princesa, and your coolness goes up at the very least by 50 points. Why anyone would view the site in the barbaric and monotonous "view" (if it can even be called that) of 100% is incomprehensible to me.
In summary: 90% zoom is really the only way to get the most out of Bungie.net. And now you know.

I'm on 110% zoom...

Silly signature debate aside, my vision has deteriorated over the last decade+ of solid computer use daily. Because of this 110-125% is often a choice of mine. I also do occasionally use the zoom handicap. I often even misinterpret posts by misreading key words. So no I think anything less than 100% is a terrible idea. [Edited on 12.11.2012 11:51 PM PST]

I would if I had the little zoom slider in the bottom corner, like in IE, but this new browser requires a long and arduous process to alter the zoom level.

25% works for me.
Posted by: SonicJohn
Posted by: Grateful Zebra I'm usually not one to comment on post's like this, but why does this bother you so much? How could a tiny collection of pixels cause you discomfort? Who cares how other users post?
I can personally understand a little "-CS55" at the end of a post, because that's just a few extra clicks of the keyboard. However, "©" implies that he constantly has it on hand to ctrl-v at the end of the post. It's a little obnoxious and erroneous. I'd go so far as to even say that it's abhorrent.
Tell me if I'm getting this right. If a user chooses to go out of their way use special symbols, like "©", it implies that their looking for negative attention and that act is what's angering the others? On what grounds can you confidently say that this user is seeking negative attention. Maybe he thinks it makes his posts more unique. Live and let live. No but really, you're right, I do constantly have this tab open, and it may be more obnoxious than a simple CS55 but A) that's boring and B) it's not totally irrelevant to my username as the copyright symbol is a C and my username starts with a C (the reason I picked it in the first place). Now, back on topic: How many of you have experienced the joys of 90% zoom thus far? Isn't it magnificent? ©

I usually come here on my phone, I have no idea what the zoom is. That's where your sig is suppose to go.

I'm going to stick to %10 zoom with my 'desk magnifying glass'. It makes it easier to switch between painting Warhammer 40k miniatures and surfing Bnet.

110% Zoom is where the party is.

I'm interested to know the resolution and screen size of people who can bare it any less than the perfect storm that is 90% zoom. The way I see it, the whole situation can be summed up by this graph. Tru fax. ©

You must be on an old desktop or something... 90% would make everything way too small. There is already enough empty space on the sides leftover.
-
No. Try doing that on a 1920x1080 17 inch screen. Not so cool now is it?
