From Community Member to Employee

It is obvious that members of the seventh column can get to a place of prestige such as the Ninjas, but no member can gain the power of a Bungie employee without...well...becoming a Bungie employee. On that note it got me thinking. How many community members have followed their passion for games, gained a profession in the industry and with the proper amount of experience points, applied and got offered a place at Bungie Studios? How many of you (the current community members) are training/planning to train yourselves in the gaming industry? After a couple years will you apply to Bungie? What profession are you/would you be filling? This is not aimed just at the people training. Anyone who dreams or thinks about it.....What would you want to do in the gaming industry

 •
Posted by: Enormous Corgi I'd be hard-pressed to find an exception if I said we were all fans before we were colleagues.
Understandable. If true, then what about people who perhaps are in the industry and are.........Bunny Hopping? (It's the best analogy I could come up with) People with experience who held a competitive admiration towards you guys and have offered their talents in exchange for new experience. Like Nomads in the ever growing land of GAMEDOM!

 •
Posted by: defnop552 Depends on what you define as a community member. Bungie.net community? Or the complete online Bungie community.
Well people like you, me and the rest of the people in these threads. I guess at that, I mean people who interact on the Bungie fan sites and actively contribute. Personally I'm applying and hoping to gain a degree in 3d animation or games art. Concept art has always looked amazing for games aswell. Plus cheers everyone for the responses.

 • I've always been amazed by concept artists. Bungie's concept art has never ceased to amaze me. ODST's concept art is definitely a favourite of mine. The latest reveal of Destiny was great. I have always wanted to be a concept artist, since I was very little. It would be an absolute dream come true for me to work at Bungie. But it seems that it is of extremely low probability of that ever being the case.

 • I want to work in the game industry (or movie) as a concept artist. Working at Bungie would definitely be a first choice.

 • It was pretty perfect, if only Nintendo had more room! DigiPen left the protection of Nintendo to expanded, which was a great decision for the overall school.
Posted by: Hylebos I imagine that they would have to if they were growing like crazy, but the original location was just so perfect.
• I'm currently getting my Bachelors in Fine Arts in Digital Art and Animation (BFA) at DigiPen in Redmond WA. As far as Bungie goes, it all depends were I'm at in four years. If I don't push for my other aspirations then I will definitely apply for a job at Bungie. I can not tell you what I would do there yet.
