Looks very nice.

I'm pretty sure all of this was actually explained in the IGN article.

For the record: think of this concept art as a Mock-Up of a new product. First, you start with brain storming and singling out one particular idea to run with which is directly analogous to the exact same process when making a game. Then, in the initial mock-up of this new product, it won't be made from the materials the final product will be made from, you may make it out of toilet paper rolls and toothpicks and mousetraps and pipe cleaners and Popsicle sticks and all this other stuff, but the idea you're tryin to convey is recognized, even if the materials used to convey that work aren't wholly your own and the concept isn't complete. Because remember, this wasn't meant to be seen by the public, just passed around the studio to give people ideas, and in a day and age when we can just google an image of the earth and overlay an image of The Travler and get the concept to the other parts of the studio quicker, why not take advantage of it? ©

The first picture has been my wallpaper for almost two years.

Nothing was "stolen". I just feel that must be stated for some who are a little rusty on their sarcasm.)
Just saying it wouldn't surprise me. Developers have taken ideas from things all the time. Bioware has been doing this since Mass Effect 1 but for some reason only people notice it from Mass Effect 3. "Oh tali looks like a photoshopped picture of a woman. oh! They stole the credit from this picture." I thought people would realize by now every developer does this. Hell Arma II takes place in the real world are people going to complain that they copied off this world? I know you are joking but some people get all excited and get mad at the developers when they find out something like that.

I like how, in the second picture, part of the sky map is labeled "Table Head" in the top right.
Posted by: chubbz
Posted by: Your MOM is MC It's official but it's work of a contractor. The point is, the artist doing the work is resourceful as hell.
I think you'd be surprised how often this occurs.
Well I prefer to stay out of the minds of the artists where I develop. Being a designer, I tend to stray from their method of working.
Posted by: adamj004 the structure that stretches up to the sky from the city in the 2 pictures kinda looks like the city from the halo 2 demo destiny http://i.imgur.com/wkfbl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Wsw4x.jpg halo 2 http://www.gamershell.com/static/streaming/6470/6470_medium.jpg
Haha, very keen eye. Those are all clouds though so no Halo resemblance sadly.
