To the Blog!
It was nice to give our weekly conversation the usual royal treatment again.
As a bonus to the usual challenge (which you will find embedded in the Sack itself), I will be selecting three lucky people who respond to this thread to receive a free code to download the new and improved Kerbal Space Program. To qualify, complete this sentence: "I want to journey into space because..."
To learn more about KSP, pay a visit to the KerbalKon being streamed all day long by our friends at Squad - but be sure to come back to Bungie.net and help your fellow community peeps solve the puzzle for this week.

Binery, again? I'm disapointed.

I want to journey into space because... I can think of nothing more beautiful... to take my picture in front of for my Christmas card this year.

SGMX's solution works out. Just ran a conversion. And looks like DeeJ confirmed it. At least this shoots down VGA announcement speculations. [Edited on 11.30.2012 3:02 PM PST]

I had just postulated that there might be binary numbers in the columns because there were absolutely no empty columns. Good Game SGMX, Good Game. [Edited on 11.30.2012 3:02 PM PST]

When I look at it, I see a 7 note scale similar to a music box.
Posted by: POKEY CLYDE Next week we get to hear about Michael Williams starship thingy?! Which I think is Destiny related.. which would be awesome. Also NEXT WEEK, one week from today is the VGAs. Coincidence? Probably..... No to try and solve this puzzle.
I think SGMX already solved it.
Posted by: the real Janaka There are 147 possible spots, 60 galaxies. /=x \=x |=x -=x O:x Counting... Some of them are a bit tricky, are there perhaps more angles than those I suggested?
What?

I want to journey into space because it is the final frontier. The biggest divide and the greatest unknown. Were the possibilities are as infinite as the stars. Were we can stare into the void and say, "I am not afraid!" Some say the sky is the limit, but I ask you, why stop there? Let us venture forth into the infinite cosmos. Let us go where no man has gone before. Let us reach forth and grasp the heavens tight with both hands, screaming to the stars that we will not be held back! That we shall continue to explore, to create, to marvel and wonder! To dream. Let us therefore go together, my brothers, into infinity.

I want to journey into space, cause I am a Traveler of it and time, it is in my nature. [Edited on 11.30.2012 3:02 PM PST]

I want to journey into space because in space, no one can hear me awkwardly talk to myself.

Short and sweet: I want to journey into space because I love discovery. Space provides infinite chances to see things beyond anything we could possibly imagine. [Edited on 11.30.2012 6:12 PM PST]

"I want to journey into space because..." ...Because I want to study Black Holes.

I wonder if this has to do with the challenge.
Personally, the chance to be a fly on the walls that contain my favorite creative process is a real treat. The chance to make a contribution to that process is still surreal. Our esteemed panelists might have a less starry-eyed perspective...

Posted by: DeeJ
Piloting an amazing starship is a fantastic recent perk. Michael Williams, Senior Engineer Ahhhh, yes. I'll tell that story next week, Bungie Community. Promise.

VGA reveal confirmed?

The challenge pic reminds me of a direction field. I doubt the challenge is based on mathematics though.

I want to journey into space so I can make a gigantic satelite that I can aim at Earth. I will name this satilite Phil. Anyways Phil will be pointed down at Earth so that I can fire a wave impulse at some select cool and inconspicous looking bulidings that turn out to be amplifiers dedicated to amplfying the wave from Phil. Then as the wave travels the globe, the true purpose will be revealed. The wave will have turned all of hummanity and life into my thralls that I can freely neurologicly code into doing what I want. Then I will have the thralls hide some expensive and cool stuff in a place no one will find it. After I have gathered the materials I will have the thralls assume their places before I fired Phil and turn off the beam where I then will land on Earth acting like nothing ever happend. With a few extra dollars, of course.

I want to journey into space because YOLO.
Posted by: Sunburned Goose Is there meaning to the variety and orientation of the galaxies?
In general all the galaxies in a column are the same shape, but are sometimes rotated, especially in the final three rows. Ah, Jade the Stick is our riddlemaster I see. [Edited on 11.30.2012 2:39 PM PST]
