To the Blog!
It was nice to give our weekly conversation the usual royal treatment again.
As a bonus to the usual challenge (which you will find embedded in the Sack itself), I will be selecting three lucky people who respond to this thread to receive a free code to download the new and improved Kerbal Space Program. To qualify, complete this sentence: "I want to journey into space because..."
To learn more about KSP, pay a visit to the KerbalKon being streamed all day long by our friends at Squad - but be sure to come back to Bungie.net and help your fellow community peeps solve the puzzle for this week.

I want to journey into space because Earth is boring.
-
I want to journey into space because I want to devote my life to something greater than simply life - and what could be grander than dancing amongst the stars themselves?
-
I want to journey into space because I can get away from the world domination that Bungie is planning.
-
I want to journey into space to tie the leader (and then proceed to dominate of course). 7th page! [Edited on 12.01.2012 10:30 AM PST]

Nice mail sack, thanks for answering my question. Hopefully you guys will decide to bring back the podcast one day, if so I expect Luke to be there, if not who else would force everyone to talk about the NFL?
-
Thanks for bringing back the puzzle, Bungie! I think SEC3 may have some of us a little more sharpened than we were a few months back...

For some reason, I was thinking Morse Code when I saw the challenge. [Edited on 12.01.2012 8:54 AM PST]

I want to journey into space because I just robbed a bank and I need to hide from... ehmmm... I mean, because it's cool, yeah.
-
I want to journey into space because when I cast my eyes skyward, I feel nothing but envy for those who have gone, and pure fascination of what lies out in the final frontier.
-
Great mail sack bro's bullseye, still to flooded with well you know what im talking about. [Edited on 12.01.2012 8:10 AM PST]

"I want to journey into space because I'm so alone."
-
I want to journey into space because there are so many things to discover and many places to visit, like that new planet that looks very much like Tatooine, and who knows, maybe there are planets that resemble Reach or Harvest. Plus, it's on my bucket list.

I want to journey into space because I want to journey into space. Is it such a hard achievement to fulfill?
Posted by: GPK Ethan Modding games that didn't necessarily have dev support. I would expect doing so will probably allow you to see the blood and sweat that goes into making a game.
Posted by: InSaNe DrIvE
Posted by: GPK Ethan Also thanks for answering my question, and overall it was another great mailsack.
I have to ask... what kind of modding were you thinking about?

Technically you did not answer my question...but I can still rebut to this. Modding games that don't necessarily have dev support does allow you to see the blood and sweat required in game creation, but in the same token modding in any game regardless allows you to see such. The difference, as mentioned by -Nate (as he is known here)- to modding with vs without dev support is difficulty (primarily creating the modding tools from scratch - if I may say so). To that I would also like to add the variable "a range of quality", that being Life of one who does this for a living vs Life getting in the way of what a person enjoys doing. When you are waiting for tools without dev support - there is no end date. No entity to scream at. You either have the flame to craft or you don't. Halo Modding community (that ... Nate... was in) was very fortunate to have some very talented and skilled people create tools for modding Halo (still do), and had some very talented and skilled people weald those tools. There are many things you can do in modding (both good & bad as mentioned). All you have to do is ask your self what you would like to do and search for what it takes to do it... and have fun & learn along the way.

DeeJ, did you come up with that challenge? Well, I want to journey to space because it scares me. Every grain of sand on Earth is different from the next and the same goes for every galaxy in the universe...except there are more galaxies than sand! That's why I come here, by the way, because between Bungie and the rest of you crazy people, I never know which galaxy I'll be exploring next!

I wonder how many of us are going to make this lame yet awesome 'it's my destiny' joke.

I want to journey into spac because my Destiny awaits. (TM)
Posted by: bujjer
Posted by: Elem3nt 117 At least this shoots down VGA announcement speculations.
How does it shoot it down, exactly? The message was "WE'RE STILL DARK, BRO", not "WE WON'T BE AT THE VGAS, BRO". It's not an outright confirmation or denial of a VGA appearance, it only means they're still dark as of right now, for all we know, they might not be dark come December 7. Obviously I might be wrong, but if they weren't going to the VGAs I'd think DeeJ would've just addressed it in the Mail Sack, rather than burying it within a code as a message that could mean anything. I want to journey into space because staying on Earth is sooo mainstream. Also, longtime lurker, first-time poster.
I'm gonna need to see your card.

I want to journey into space because it is the next great place of exploration. I grew up a lot with Stargate. The thought of visiting other words and being among the stars has stuck with me all this time. It is nit a realistic dream, but it is a dream nonetheless... and one can never know what the future will have in stire for them.

Ahhhh, thanks Deej, Matt, Michael, Jay, Chris, and Drew. :D
